Reddit Discovers Anime Music and People are Loving It

Yesterday, a moderator for the /r/music subreddit was hacked and the place was turned into an anime themed subreddit. Everyone went crazy and started sharing anime songs!

The mod was kind enough to let users have some fun after regaining control of their account, but the sub has been cleaned up (RIP Weeabo), partly because it was Discussion Friday. Reddit’s Music subreddit has 13,400,506 subscribers and drove some major traffic to the top voted songs.

Some Redditors discovered “the wealth of music that was found in anime” and want to set up monthly or weekly events to continue the anime music exploration journey. This is pretty crazy considering /r/music is largely people who have a very strict definition of “cool.”

Here are some of the songs that has got some Redditors falling in love.

Here are some of the high ranking anime songs that can still be found on /r/music.

Tank! (Cowboy Bebop)

God Knows (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

Ready Steady Go (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Hikaru Nara (Your Lie in April)

Bloody Stream (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency)

Rewrite (Fullmetal Alchemist)

NO, Thank You! (K-On!!)

Blues Drive Monster (FLCL)

What’s Up People (Death Note)

Snow Halation (Love Live!)

Renai Circulation Mix (Bakemonogatari)

Cory in the House

Well…that was an experience.

I really like to look at the darker side of things, like a shadow following you at night...or maybe I'm just trying too hard? Anyways, Persona is my life!
